One tool that Upstate Applications, Inc. uses in pond management is colorant. We use Cygnet Select, a dye deep blue in color that is organic and is not harmful to fish or wildlife. Cygnet Select is very easy to apply by pouring the measured amount along the pond’s edge. In a matter of hours, the dye will diffuse naturally and uniformly throughout the pond. Since Cygnet Select is not an algaecide or herbicide, we can offer it for sale in New York State without a permit.
